SUMMARY:Rooftop Quality Assurance
DESCRIPTION:Rooftop Quality Assurance is a one-day course for professionals interested in performing observation to help assure that roof installation is consistent with construction documents. The program covers the diverse and challenging aspects of roofing as encountered in the field and is ideal for roofing material manufacturers, general contractors, quality assurance observers and field inspectors. Course participants will receive objective and detailed information regarding the duties of the roof quality observer.\n​\nInstructors cover fundamentals of quality assurance, component assembly and quality practice guidelines for a variety of roofing systems, including: role of the roof observer, construction contract documents, daily reports, low-slope roofing, spray applied foam, steep-slope roofing, ethics and codes.\n​\nAlthough not a preparatory course for the Registered Roof Observer (RRO)® exam, this course provides useful information for the individual who is preparing for RRO registration\n​\nThis course is $300 CAD for members of IIBEC; $400 CAD for non-members.\nThis course is worth 8 Continuing Educational Hours (CEHs) from IIBEC, 8 Learning Units from the American Institute of Architects, and is approved for Health and Safety Welfare credit.\nUPDATE July 17th, 2020:  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and  for the health and safety of both our registrants and staff, we have cancelled the venue for this event and have instead moved to online delivery of this course using the “Go To Webinar” platform.  In addition, due to other circumstances, we have moved the date of the RTQA from Friday July 24th, 2020 to Wednesday August 19th, 2020.  We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.\n
