DESCRIPTION:UPDATE 13 March 2020: Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, IIBEC has suggested that any near term planned events be postponed, or cancelled. IIBEC has cancelled the 2020 International Convention and Trade Show in Houston, Texas that was scheduled for the end of this month.\n​\nThe Canadian Prairies Chapter will be taking a similar route by postponing this Lunch ‘n Learn until a later date when it has been deemed acceptable to do so. \nIf you have pre-paid for this event, we can issue a refund or apply the payment as credit towards the next talk. In the event that you wish to receive a refund for this talk, please send us an email at info@rci-canadianprairies.com and we will make arrangements.\nThursday March 19th, 2020 @ 2725 – 12th Street NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 7J2\nIIBEC – Canadian Prairies is hosting a Lunch ‘n Learn talk on “Warm vs. Cold Parapets” at the Calgary Construction Association. In this presentation we will review the differences and advantages of warm and cold parapet assemblies. Some of the objectives of this talk will include:\n\nWhat is a Cold Parapet?\nWhat is a Warm Parapet?\nDescribe the decision making process when selecting either of these, per project.\n\nThis talk is being presented by Heather Elliot, P.Eng., LEED® Green Associate. This Lunch ‘n Learn is good for 1 CEH.\n​About the presenter:\nHeather has been involved in various aspects of building envelope consulting, including new construction and remediation. She believes in finding practical solutions to ensure the lifespan and performance of new infrastructure. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary, with a minor in Structural Engineering. She is a member of APEGA, ABEC, and CaGBC.\n
