DESCRIPTION:IIBEC – Canadian Prairies is hosting the Lunch ‘n Learn talk “Electronic Leak Detection for Roofing, Waterproofing and the Building Envelope”. The event will be held August 15th, 2024.The talk will begin at 12:00 MT.\n***NEW! – IIBEC Canadian Prairies Chapter has been approved as an AAA Registered Course Provider! AAA registrants will receive 1.0 Structured learning hour! ***\nJoin us for a VIRTUAL event, Electronic Leak Detection for Roofing, Waterproofing and the Building Envelope. The Event will be live-streamed virtually. Those who purchase a virtual ticket will be sent the link separately to the email address attached to their Paypal transaction.\nOverview:\nThis one hour course will cover Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) testing methods used for quality assurance of roofing and waterproofing membranes. Participants will learn about the principles outlined in the ASTM Standard Guide D7877 and ASTM Standard Practice D8231 and will be able to identify which assemblies are compatible with electronic testing and active monitoring.\nLearning Objective 1 – Recognize the differences between the four electronic testing methods for roofing and waterproofing membranes.\nLearning Objective 2 – Understand the capabilities and limitations of electronic leak detection (ELD) as outlined in ASTM Guide D7877 & ASTM Practice D8231.\nLearning Objective 3 – Identify potential future design and construction failures based on analyzed data from real time construction monitoring.\nThis talk is being presented by Shaun Katz. This Lunch ‘n Learn is good for 1 CEH credit. AAA registrants will receive 1.0 Structured learning hour\n​About the presenter:\nShaun has over 20 years of experience in customer service and business administration. He has assisted contractors, architects, engineers and consultants, manufacturers, facility/property managers and building owners with forensic leak investigation, as well as leak detection in new construction.  He has performed presentations and ELD demonstrations throughout the world, and won the 2020 Presenter of the Year award from the Chicago Chapter of IIBEC.  His goal is to provide a basic understanding of Electronic Leak Detection and to assist all parties with ensuring valid and conclusive ELD.
