DESCRIPTION:IIBEC – Canadian Prairies is hosting the Lunch ‘n Learn talk “The relevance of third-party testing and association collaboration”. The event will be held October 17th, 2024. Lunch will be served at 11:30. The talk will begin at 12:00.\nJoin us for a HYBRID event, The relevance of third-party testing and association collaboration.. The Event will be held at the ARCA Calgary Office in the Board Room, and will also be live-streamed virtually. Those who purchase a virtual ticket will be sent the link separately to the email address attached to their Paypal transaction.\nOverview:\nMany new materials are introduced into the roofing industry annually and an integral aspect of the success of these materials relies on third-party independent testing.  The ARCA will discuss how they are involved in third-party testing standards and specifications and how they use this information on their material acceptance process.  Many other associations are involved in testing. A productive network has been established allowing information to be shared nation wide.\nLearning Objective 1 – Learn the importance of third party testing standards.  A discussion on who can provide third party testing, how is it controlled and the benefits of an independent review.\nLearning Objective 2 – Learn the difference between CSA, ASTM, FM, ANSI and other standards used in the roofing industry.\nLearning Objective 3 – Learn how different associations share information, research and experience when reviewing new materials.\nThis talk is being presented by Kevin Kramers RRO.
