IIBEC – Canadian Prairies is hosting the Lunch ‘n Learn talk “Building Envelope Field Testing (Performance & Verification)”. The event will be held November 21st, 2024. Lunch will be served at 11:30. The talk will begin at 12:00.

Overview:
Based on project experience that includes the Ken Soble Tower, modern hospitals, and several new-construction projects, this presentation will cover various performance and verification tests performed in the field as part of a robust quality assurance program.
Learning Objective 1 – Why performance and verification testing matters.
Learning Objective 2 – Overview of which tests affect which building components (e.g. whole-building, walls, roofs)
Learning Objective 3 – Develop an understanding of how these tests are carried out and what to look for.
This talk is being presented by Marco Guzzo, Dipl.Tech. – Engineering Link Incorporated. This Lunch ‘n Learn is good for 1 CEH credit.
About the presenter:
Marco brings over 20 years of experience as a consultant within the Building Science industry. Marco’s expertise in building envelope systems comes from assessing the condition of new and existing buildings via a wide array of diagnostic testing which includes air and water penetration testing, as well as thermographic scanning of walls and roofs. Marco has extensive knowledge of construction including from design through to construction review.
Marco is an Alberta “new-born”, having made Calgary his home in 2022. He has served on the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) between 2011 and 2020 and as President from 2016 to 2018. Marco is also a member of the CSA A119 (Fenestration) Toronto Chapter, and a Certified Thermographer.
